Treatment as Korean nationals
HOME Administrative Info Treatment as Korean nationals
Dual citizenship-holders who have both South Korean and foreign nationality and who are listed on a Family Relations Register in Korea are eligible to apply for treatment as a South Korean national. Treatment as a South Korean national means, for the individual in question, the waiving of all duties typically required of foreign nationals, including the application for extension of stay, etc.
Foreign nationals treated as South Korean nationals must use their Korean passport when leaving South Korea. An application for treatment as a South Korean national may be completed and submitted at the immigration office with jurisdiction over the individual’s registered address of residence.
